In the same vein, in KOA:R, the Level 40 / 123 talent points cap makes it so a character can not be a master of all abilities. A level 30 character cannot be a master of all skills and have only so much perks to allocate.įor myself, playing a more level limited character also means that my character must specialise in specific skill sets or risk being mediocre at everything. The vanilla version was built to level up to 30, and at that level, a character has only so much skill points/perks and must decide which skills/perks to specialise in. At level 50, the Courier will long ago max out all skills and gain a whole load of perks to go with it. When Fallout: New Vegas raised the cap from Level 30 to Level 50, I was one of those that disliked it. If you wish to level beyond Level 40 and keep getting more points to improve more skill, this is where I would totally disagree with, except that you're free to play it the way you like it. I do not know whether the YSA mod changes the number of talent points issues per level, but the game levelling was designed with maxed Level 40 and with 123 talent points (+3 per level starting with 3 at Level 0), so at max level, a char may have:ġ) Mastery in 1 talent tree (full range of Level 1-6 talents)Ģ) High skilll in 2 trees (up to Level 5 talents)ģ) Middling skill in all 3 trees (up to Level 4 talents) 40 by itself is no more than a number, same as the base level cap of 30 for vanilla New Vegas or the max level cap of 50 with all add-on.
